Cherry & Blueberry Smoothie Bowl

Yield: 2 smoothies

Northwest cherries and frozen banana blend to create this creamy smoothie bowl with a frozen yogurt texture. Loaded with protein, antioxidants, and potassium, this delicious and healthy treat is the perfect post-workout for muscle recovery.

Smoothie bowls are extra thick and are eaten with a spoon rather than a straw. This creates endless topping opportunities! This recipe is kid-friendly to make. We like creating a topping bar and inviting our little ones to create their own yummy design! This recipe is also vegan and paleo-friendly (without honey).

Health tip: Cherries are a great source of potassium! One cup of cherries contains 260 mg of potassium, which is often lost in sweat during a workout. Cherries provide a natural source of replenishment.

Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups Northwest cherries, measured after pitting
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey, optional
  • 4 tablespoons almond butter

Toppings:

  • Blueberries
  • Pitted cherries
  • Coconut flakes
  • Slivered almonds
  • Chia seeds
  • Honey

Directions:

Place smoothie ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl. Top your bowl with all of the delicious toppings, and have fun with your design!
