The Washington state apple crop estimate has gone up slightly compared to the January estimate. It now stands at 105.8 million 40lb boxes, an increase of approximately 750,000. The gains were primarily in Red Delicious, Fuji and Gala all three of which remain in high demand. Eva Martinez, Living the Dream

Some of Eva Martinez's earliest memories are of the orchards her parents used to work in as pickers. Her and her siblings – she comes from a family of 3 boys and 7 girls – would go with their parents into the orchards until they were old enough to attend school.
